Intro To Outdoor Rock Climbing

We begin our day at 9 am in the parking lot.

Before we hit the trails, we sign all waivers, and organize our gear. We then discuss and we review the safety protocols for the day.

We then walk to the crag (the cliff area). As we near the cliff edge we continue to review safety protocols as we make our way to the training area.

Our goal is to get you climbing quickly – so after a quick safety review and gear check, we’ll have you climbing your first pitch right away.

After everyone in your group has climbed their first pitch –  we’ll have a more thorough discussion about the next steps: a more detailed review of your gear, gear checks, communication, movement, falling, and other topics.

These topics are covered in more detail in between climbing. 

We feel the more you climb, the more these conversations will connect with the actual act of climbing on rock.
